PBIS Information

At River Valley School, we implement a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program that focuses on creating a positive, respectful, and supportive school environment for all students. PBIS is a proactive framework that emphasizes teaching students the behaviors and expectations that contribute to a safe and productive school environment.

Our PBIS framework is built around three key pillars: Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn. These principles guide our students' behavior and interactions both in and out of the classroom.

  • Respectful: We encourage students to show kindness, empathy, and consideration for others. By treating peers, teachers, and the school environment with respect, students contribute to a safe and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
  • Responsible: Students learn the importance of taking ownership of their actions and making positive choices. Whether it's completing assignments on time, following school rules, or helping others, being responsible is at the heart of our daily routines.
  • Ready to Learn: At River Valley, we believe that a growth mindset is essential for success. We encourage students to come to school prepared to engage in their learning, stay focused, and embrace challenges with confidence.

By reinforcing these pillars, our PBIS program helps build a school culture where students feel supported, valued, and motivated to succeed. Students set individual goals and classroom goals and have the opportunity to earn Bulldog Bucks when demonstrating these values. We work closely with families to create a strong partnership in promoting these behaviors, ensuring that our students are not only academically successful but also socially and emotionally resilient.
